As a native Texan, Allen grew up in the panhandle community of Dumas, TX. It was there where Allen first learned the values of hard work, trust, and honesty. Today those are the same core values that Allen incorporates into his everyday life. As an alumnus of Texas Tech University, he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1995. Allen has held several Sr. management and Director level positions at fortune 2000 companies.

After a rapid rise up the management ladder, he relocated to Austin in 1998 when he joined Broadwing Communications. After several Sr. management and Director level positions, Allen finished his 12 year career as Director of Network Architecture and Principal Engineer reporting directly to the CTO.
